  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Pedri displayed great form at Euro 2024, however, his journey in the competition got cut short as he suffered an unfortunate injury following a reckless challenge by Toni Kroos during Spain's quarter-final clash against Germany.

  THE BIGGER PICTURE

  It was initially believed that the young midfielder could remain out of action for at least six to eight months. He was not named in Barcelona's travelling squad for the United States pre-season tour, however, he returned to training on the pitch at Barcelona's training centre earlier this month while the squad was away.

• WHAT BARCELONA SAID

  Now, ahead of the Catalan giants' season opener, the club issued a positive update on the player's condition as their statement read on X, "Pedri has received the medical green light and will be available for #ValenciaBarça."
